“Carpe Diem” ~ Seize the day!!
To become the person we want to, we have to have the courage to change, not only thoughts but attitude as well. In order to bring in something more constructive and new into our life, it means we have to drop something which may not be as important or constructive. To review our life, helps us to get focus on things that are important to us, things we can dispose from our lives and the things we can’t. Like maybe just as an example, watching TV. A lot of us spend hours in front of it. It isn’t known as the idiot box for no reason. We can try and curb our schedule in front of the TV, for something better we want in our life. Make constructive use of our time. Time once lost will never come back. We don’t have to make drastic or tough changes. It takes time for the mind and body to adjust, we can go slow and give ourselves time, but just enough.
We must set goals for ourselves. But when we do that, always remember to have certain amount of flexibility. When we set goals, we are making ourselves focussed and aware of time management. Time management is an important tool to succeed in any endeavour in life. Since everything begins with a thought, put in as many thoughts as you can into achieving your goals, because whatever you imagine, you can create. Also, it is important to identify what we want in life, once we have done that, we can work towards it. Time management tools like alarm clocks and sticky notes are most helpful and remember to avoid time bandits, like people calling up to chat, or TV etc.
On our way to finding success, we will come across failure of course. Which is not an issue, though most people look down on failure. Failure is simply a mechanics of success. Failure only teaches you that there is another better way of doing the thing you want to do. Failure is a way of nature telling you to try again. Most of us are usually insecure with change. It scares us. But change is inevitable and change is the only constant. We take everything for granted and become comfortable in our existence. But to grow, we have to change all the time. We must all read the bestseller by Dr. Spencer Johnson~ Who moved my cheese.
Rebalance your own life before you can rebalance another’s. You can’t change the world or any person for that matter. You can only change your self. When we are counselling it is important to remember that. Don’t try ever to change anyone. You can only guide them into themselves, finding the answers to the questions they have inside themselves. Finally, success won’t be measured by the money you make, but the human being you are. In an endeavour to counsel, helping people along the way find themselves is an amazing journey.
