Change Within

A man is but a product of his thoughts. What he thinks, he becomes ~ Gandhi

But what about the messages that play every day inside our heads? Is that inner voice saying things that are uplifting, positive and healthy? Can we identify these thoughts? Are they full of stress? Even when we aren't fully listening, our internal tape is playing just at the edge of our awareness, like background music in a store. The messages that it gives, and the frequency at which they are repeated, powerfully influence our physical health and the amount of satisfaction we feel with our daily lives. If your internal messages are full of stress and disquieting thoughts, it's no surprise that you will be, too. Many of us carry limiting beliefs about ourselves throughout our lives.

thoughtImagine living the way you truly desire. Really enjoying your family and friends. Having all you want in your life. Achieving your goals with ease and grace. Why is it that we have to struggle to achieve what we want? Why is it that results are not as per what we desired? Why is it important to think about your own life as a human being, formulate action plans to change and improve circumstances? It is important as it will help us find our heart felt dreams. Simply gliding through life without a thought, aimlessly won’t really take us to where we want to be from where we are. Thoughts are the intellectual activity involving a subject’s individual consciousness. Thoughts become things. We become what we think. Definitive actions have to taken. For years this is what i wanted to do, but never thought i could do it. Get out there, become a professional counsellor and reach out to people. Though it is something i have been doing unconsciously for years, i never believed i would actually study and broaden my way of thinking and understanding of this. Then, one day, i changed the way i thought.

thoughtsofgrowthA question we have to ask ourselves is that can we possibly control our reality with our habits of thought?  According to me, yes. Its possible. We have negative thoughts and positive ones. Both these kind draw in the similar experiences. Our thoughts are causes and the effects are what happens in our reality. If we can train our mind to think happy or positive thoughts, we can move from where we are to where we want to be. Keeping cool is important. Analyse situations rationally at their core. Think it through and react accordingly. Make this a habit. It will ensure better effects in our lives. Our mind should become a filter. Let in only the thoughts which are beneficial for us. We can wonder, how are we to understand if a certain thing is beneficial or not. But we all as humans have a consciousness which allows us to feel. Feeling good and feeling bad. This is the meter by which you can judge what thoughts are good or bad. Deep introspection, also needs to be done on how we think nature operates in our life. See the pattern. Nature behaves the way we think too, even if we are unable to understand this, this is the truth. The decision on how we can have a more healthy flow of thoughts into our lives and how to incorporate depends on our personal needs and will to do the same. It could be as i mentioned above, one can find a way to meditate, do yoga, incorporate new ideas, affirmations, reading books, pursuing a hobby, learning an instrument etc. We can all decide on a way that suits us best.

dreams-are-merely-thoughts-nothing-morePast conditioning plays an important part of thought process. We have to be able to acknowledge this and be willing to change that, which needs change. We have to see the things that have influenced our adult life, positively or negatively. Look deep within and see this: are we living the life WE really want, that what WE choose for our self? The life i have chosen, makes me free or not? This issue is very important. Most of us get caught in the rut of daily life and we become tied down. Without really realising. We stop feeling our freedom. We then start becoming unhappy. What things do we need to change our opinions and beliefs about, this has to be analysed. Normally, we tend to make excuses too, to do the things we really want. We blame people around us or circumstances, that prevented us from getting what we want. These excuses prevent us from making positive changes in our life. It is necessary to address this issue.

yellow_pollenThe above paragraphs tell us to introspect ourselves. This is a start because it is never too late for anything. Being honest to ourselves is the first step we can take towards growth. There are more questions we have to explore in the further posts about ourselves. As a person learning to be a counsellor, these are the questions i am exploring about my own life, so that i can make clearer decisions. Have a more fulfilling life and be taken the correct way to my goals. If there is anything you can add to help in my endeavour, i will appreciate it. Knowledge is a continuous process. Growth is dependant on my willingness to be open and learn. All suggestions are welcome.
