The Universe and You

Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one ~ Albert Einstein

universeandyouTo understand ourselves we have to understand our connection with the universe. We are a part of it and therefore subject to its laws. Simple. We were created from the universe one day, and we will get reabsorbed by it one day. We are made of up of the same matter and energy found in everything else on this universe. The elements that make up our bodies and all other matter on earth originated within the stars like our sun. Whether is it the solar system, the stars, the earth, the trees, anything and everything. Everything in the universe is interconnected. We don’t realise the extent and magnitude of the words: We are one. In the truest sense of the words. Elements on the earth are recycled and for all you know, you may have particles of something that lived and walked the earth some million years ago. Water has been recycled over and over. The world around us is ever changing and interacting. The universe creates us, preserves us and then destroys us. We must relate to this fact with humility, awe, celebration and search for deeper understanding.

Change Within

A man is but a product of his thoughts. What he thinks, he becomes ~ Gandhi

images (8)Most of us are careful about the messages we take in. We're selective about the music we listen to, the television shows we watch, and the people we solicit opinions from.
But what about the messages that play every day inside our heads? Is that inner voice saying things that are uplifting, positive and healthy? Can we identify these thoughts? Are they full of stress? Even when we aren't fully listening, our internal tape is playing just at the edge of our awareness, like background music in a store. The messages that it gives, and the frequency at which they are repeated, powerfully influence our physical health and the amount of satisfaction we feel with our daily lives. If your internal messages are full of stress and disquieting thoughts, it's no surprise that you will be, too. Many of us carry limiting beliefs about ourselves throughout our lives.

Learning Process

Empathy1Getting involved with an organisation will help build skills, empathy and compassion. It could be an old age home, an orphanage, a hospital, a school. Everyone appreciates a volunteer and who doesn’t need one. Many people are bored, lonely, in pain and really need someone to reach out to them. Some of these places may never be getting visitors.

Habits

Healthy_HabitsCounselling is a systematic process. Coping with any sort of trauma, isn’t easy. There are many subjects that need to be covered when we counsel. It is important to understand and analyse our lifestyle, a subject we usually take for granted and tend to overlook. When we try to assess a situation, there are many things we have to review. Not only how the mind works, but also what a person’s habits are. What are our patterns and is that counter productive, without us realising. Very often of course, we think we are doing things the correct way, or we are resigned to the fact that : this is the way i am, but that does not mean it is acceptable and should be ignored. What then are the things that must be reviewed too, apart from the body language and state of mind? Don’t we all want to be productive, mentally sharp, emotionally balanced, and full of energy all day long?

What is Counselling?

images (8)The terms advice, guidance and counselling are often interchanged by most people, including me. I would never have thought that there was a huge difference between the words: Advice, guidance and counselling, till I read about them. While they all are processes which are evolved to provide a solution to a problem in a person’s life, it is important to understand the difference between them. What I discovered was very interesting.

The Beginning…

images (1)Over many years and serendipitous meetings over coffee, tea and even just like that, i realised that we all have such a fantastic depth inside us that its overwhelming sometimes. There is a complete another universe inside each one of us which is even more vast than the one you see with your eyes. The planets inside are so many emotions we feel. Each one is so clearly defined that its a mystery to me, just as are Saturn’s beautiful rings.

I met so many people and we discussed so many things. This blog is just one with many questions, many thoughts, most which i probably share with all of you out there.

Want to join me and help me discover what this world inside is all about?
